Representative Members
Membership in NCHPEG is by organization or individual. Members broadly represent:
- Health professional societies/certifying boards
- Consumers groups
- Commercial entities
- Federal government agencies
- Foundations and granting agencies
- Educational/academic institutions
- Medical/healthcare institutions
- Individuals
Local or regional affiliates will be encouraged to work through their national office, if the national office already is a member. If that is not the case, we encourage the national organization to apply for membership.
Applications
NCHPEG welcomes applications from health professional societies, consumer groups, government agencies, managed-care organizations, private industry, genetics professional societies, and individuals interested in genetics education for health professionals.
By promoting frequent and open communication between stakeholders, NCHPEG seeks to capitalize on the collective expertise and experience of members and to reduce duplication of effort.

Membership Criteria
There are universal criteria for all applicants as well as organization-specific criteria upon which each applicant will be assessed.
Member Roles and Responsibilities
Members of NCHPEG are responsible for promoting policies, activities, and materials to improve genetics education and access to accurate information for health professionals, and for increasing effective and responsible use of new genetic knowledge and technologies by health professionals.
